Troubleshooting

The bot does not respond

• You are in DMs: commands only work in a server.
• The bot cannot see the channel or post in it. Check its permissions in that channel. The official invite grants Administrator; if that was removed, give it at least access to the channel and permission to send messages there, or re-invite it with the invite link.
• You used the command a few seconds ago. The “Please wait … seconds” message gives the remaining wait (“Veuillez patienter” on a French server).

“You don’t have an account”

Open your account with /pb open. Betting never creates one. Accounts are per server, so you need one on each server where you play.

I cannot create matches

/match create is for managers. An admin must set managerrole (or adminrole) with /pb config and give you that role. With no role set, only members with the Discord Administrator permission have access. No channel needs to be configured to create a match.

“Cette commande a été désactivée sur ce serveur.”

An admin disabled the command. /togglecommand with action:list shows disabled commands, and action:enable turns one back on. If it is coinflip that gets refused with a games-specific message, check commandesdejeux in /pb config instead.

My bet is refused

Nothing is debited in any of these cases.

I cannot remove my bet

A bet can only be removed while the match is open, before the deadline, and never on a Bookmaker match.

If the confirmation card says “Confirmation expired”, more than 5 minutes have passed: click the “🗑️ Cancel” button in /pb mybets or “🗑️ Remove my bet” on the match page again.

The confirmation card expired

Confirmation cards are only valid for a while: 5 minutes for /match close and bet cancellation, 60 seconds for /coins giveall, /coins set and /pb close. An expired card does nothing. Run the command again. Only the person who ran the command can click its buttons. See Administration.

I did not get a DM

• The bot sends no DM when you place or remove a bet. The confirmation only shows privately in Discord.
• DMs arrive when a match is settled, cancelled or deleted.
• If your DMs are closed for this server, they fail without warning.

The match did not close at the deadline

That is expected. The bot does not close matches on the dot, but it refuses every bet that arrives after the deadline. The match and its announcement switch to “Closed” at the next /bet, /listmatches or click on a bet button. A manager then has to settle the match with /match close once the result is known.

The announcement is not updated

The announcement of a Sport or Free match follows the match: new title, new odds, new deadline, then the “Closed”, “Finished”, “Cancelled” or “Deleted” status. Two exceptions:

• image announcements (canvas visuals) are never changed, but the new deadline still applies to bets;
• if the message was deleted or the bot can no longer see the channel, the update is skipped without blocking the action.

After settlement, the result only shows once the winnings are paid.

/match edit refuses to edit the match

Editing only works on an open match with no bets that is not a Bookmaker match. Team and choice names cannot be edited. If bets already exist, cancel the match with /match cancel (stakes are refunded) and create it again.

Announcements do not go to the configured channel

A match announcement is posted in the channel where /match create is typed. matcheschannel and betschannel are saved but not used by the bot yet: bets work in every channel. To clear one of them, use /pb config reset:matcheschannel or reset:betschannel.

The bot speaks French on an English server

• Command descriptions follow your Discord client language. Only English (US) shows English; English (UK) and other languages see French.
• Replies follow the server’s language option.
• Some text stays in French: server logs and the /coins subcommands.

Restricting does not work

/restrict needs restrictedrole to be configured, the Manage Roles permission for the bot, and the bot’s highest role above the restricted role. The target needs an account and must not be a manager or admin.

The role ping is not sent

Check that pingenabled is on and pingrole is set. The bot must be able to mention that role: make the role mentionable or give the bot permission to mention roles.

Canvas visuals do not show

Visuals are on by default for new servers, but an admin may have turned them off (or the server was added before this change). images:true in /pb config turns them on. Bookmaker matches and the public result announcement are never images, which is expected. See Canvas visuals.

A former member appears on the leaderboard

Leaderboards count every account on the server, including members who left. Leaving a server does not delete the account.
